Day 30, Mon Sept 9th

We and the boat made it to Paducah today, via pickup truck.     A Mr. Frank Trieglagg of Joppa/Metropolis, Il.   pulled our boat out with his trailer and pickup and trailed it up to a Mercury Marine dealer here in Paducah.    arrived about 3:00 PM,    hope they can at least diagnosis the problem today and get it fixed tomorrow.     Frank took us to a Drury motel so that is where we are now.

We also found out the the couple we had dinner with last night are also here.    the room also included a hot meal tonite and hot breakfast tomorrow so the price is fairly reasonable.     we used the pool and hot tub for a short time before supper and will do a little laundry.        They also had  53 cent drinks, (beer, wine and mixed) tonite so we did partake a little.    Milt had couple beer and Stan had 2 margriatas

Before we left this morning, a couple more travelers showed up at the dock.    A canoer, Eian Davis, was canoeing down the Ohio from Pittsburg to Cairo and a couple stopped with a large sailboat who was now traveling the great loop.    Actually, they started from Scotland about 2 years ago,  went thru the Suez and red sea and on to Australia, New Zealand, and south pacific, then back thru the Suez , across the Alantic to New York , up the Hudson and Erie canal, Great lakes, down the Illinois  and Mississippi rivers,  and are heading for Mobile via the Tennessee and Tom-Tigbe canal before heading on home or somewhere.   Gene and Barb were also there as they prepared to continue upstream to Paducah.
