Day 5, Aug 15th, Subula to LeClaire, IA

Made 37 miles today with an 1 1/2 wait at L&D 13, staying at LeClaire Courtsey Dock tonite. left about 9:00 AM , could have started little earlier, but a towboat had just went past so decided to wait for him to get ahead, hoping we would not have to wait at next lock, but then another appeared so we took off about 9:00, still had to wait. had a lot of traffic, towboat barges, work barges, coast guard work boat, and small boats, sort of hairy for a few minutes. later we idled for a while as we to talk to a small boater who was taking our picture. then on to LeClaire.

Was apprensive abour crossing this large open pool as we had heard about big waves under windy conditions, but was no wind at all and lake was like glass.
Had a small boat pull up along side to take pictures, so we slowed and visited with us for a while R1
