Day 8, Sun. Aug 18,Kiethsburg, Ill., RM 427, to shoreline at RM 390

We got up at about 6:30 and went to the Keithsburg Boat-In Breakfast for scrambled eggs, sausage , bacon, potatos, toast, melon, drink, etc. then motored out about 8:30 and on to L&D 19 where there was a small boat coming out so we got right in.We passed by several large duck blinds which I assume will be recovered for fall use.We then stopped at Bluff Harbor Marina for gas, oil, and ice, and an extra set of spark plugs as backup. they did not have the right spark plugs, but they offered to take us to an auto parts store, Milt went for the plugs while Stan loaded the ice and oil. was a very nice and courteous marina staff and would recommend them.  DSCN0668
DSCN0680 Being Sunday, there were a lot of pleasure craft on the river and we were frequently buzzed by boat throwing substantial wakes, which rocked our canoe in its cradle and finally loosened some screws on it, so we had to stop at a boat landing and make some repairs.
At Burlington, we crossed under the unique cable support bridge and later saw several deer along the shore DSCN0671
About 4:00PM, we pulled into the shoreline near a boat ramp and parked next to shore where we plan to spend the night. Supper tonite will be warmed up bratworst and chips IMG_0738
